This book targets mental challenges. Specifically, challenges with our own thoughts. Our thought life is very powerful.
It never stops. Some of us have a constant, “Nagging” that, at times, is all consuming. This is not a how-to book on being able to cope with situations. It is a book written by a regular guy, without professional medical training, who is merely sharing his own experience, strength, and hope.
Several people have told us More Than Words is not a pleasure read. They have been using More Than Words as a Christian devotional. Reading one or two poems a day, this allows time to reflect and realize, they are not alone and this can be applied to their own life circumstances.

About Michael Cochran
Being the oldest of 4 children and raised in sunny Southern California, Michael learned at a very early age: Negotiation, Cause and Effect, Love and Support, as well as the importance of a nice sunscreen.
While in high school, Michael found that he had a penchant for writing. Poetry and rhyming of words appealed to him. He wrote a few pieces and then, “Put them on the shelf.” Sitting safe in storage for years.
After graduating from high school, he was given the opportunity to become an electrical apprentice. Working with his hands and mind, proved to be rewarding for Michael. He has made electrical construction his career for the past 45 years.
About 2 ½ years ago, he felt a nudge to start writing again. But this time it was different. Everyday thoughts, feelings and experiences became not only fair game, but also a strong desire to share these writings. “Inspiration could come at any time and often at some inopportune times.” he explained.
More Than Words, Michael’s first book has 76 original poems and the bible verse that shares the same inspiration, guidance, and hope. Michael also included a brief narrative sharing personal insights and experiences.
Michael is married with 5 children and 9 grandchildren and loves this stage of his life, sharing and learning even more.

This collection of poems allows the reader to understand how God makes each of us a unique creation addressing specific past conflicts, strongholds, and life struggles related to the transforming power of Jesus Christ and how He alone can set us free. Michael Cochran evokes feelings of Hope as he shares transparently, his spiritual battles common to the everyday believer or to those searching for God.
As one who has faced these battles and who now ministers to men that have life-controlling struggles and addictions of every kind imaginable, I find Michael’s open and honest poetic phrases and personal comments incredibly healing as he shares his past struggles juxtaposed with God’s love for us that “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
